Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Tools and service providers we use
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) - used for email signups and to send email updates you request. Kit processes the name and email address you provide for that purpose.
- Site Kit by Google and Google Analytics - used to understand how readers use the site, such as which recipes are popular and how visitors find the site. Google may collect usage and device information for analytics.
- Meta pixel for WordPress - used to measure visits and interactions from Meta platforms and to understand the performance of content shared there. Meta may collect usage and device information through the pixel.
- Akismet anti-spam - used to check comments and contact submissions for spam. Comment data, including IP address and browser information, may be sent to Akismet for spam detection.
- WP Recipe Maker - used to display recipes on the site. Recipe viewing and printing may involve the same technical and analytics information described above.
How we use and share your data
We use the information described above to run and improve the site, respond to comments and questions, send email updates you have requested, understand which content readers find useful, and protect the site from spam and abuse. We share data only with the service providers listed above, to the extent needed for them to perform those services, and we do not sell your personal information.
